BOARD & TRAIN

We are proud to offer Northwest Arkansas’ first and only force-free, positive reinforcement Board and Train program — an immersive experience designed to help your dog build confidence, learn essential life skills, and develop polite house manners in a supportive, everyday environment. Our program combines structured learning with real-world practice, giving your dog a strong foundation for success while keeping their well-being and happiness at the center of everything we do.

Price: $2,000 (This four-month program includes follow-up sessions—regular attendance is required.)

Your dog will spend two weeks living with one of our certified trainers and attending daily training sessions at our facility.
At the end of the two weeks, you’ll meet with your trainer for a 90-minute session to learn how to confidently reinforce your dog’s new skills at home.
After your dog comes home, you’ll have unlimited access to our After School Coaching sessions to help maintain their progress and navigate challenges during the four-month program.

DAY SCHOOL

Not ready to live without your pup for two weeks? We know life can get hectic and raising a well-mannered dog may not always be as easy as you thought.  We’re here to help! Let us handle the heavy lifting during your work week. In our day school program, our certified trainers will train your dog and then we’ll show you how to get those behaviors outside our learning environment.

Pricing:  Individual day $60

2x Week Monthly Package $456

3x Week Monthly Package $648

5x Week Monthly Package $1020

Alumni program (daycare) available for graduates

Your pup learns to play with their friends and how to engage with us while they’re playing.
They receive a training session every day with one of our day school trainers teaching them essential skills (sit, down, come, stay, place, and leash skills, building up to higher level skills).
After School Coaching is included in your tuition, so you can come learn how to unlock your pup's potential at home. Available Monday through Thursday at 5:30pm.

DAYCARE – BENTONVILLE ONLY

Our Daycare program follows the same overall structure as Day School — just without the individual training sessions. Dogs are grouped into playgroups based on their individual play style and energy level, and our play facilitators work in recalls, name recognition, sit, and leave it throughout the day, helping dogs learn to engage in a more relaxed, regulated way. We also build in dedicated time to rest and decompress, just like your dog would at home — because an overstimulated dog can actually have a harder time settling than a tired one. The goal is a day that’s fun and enriching while teaching your dog how to take a good break.

Pricing:  Individual day $40

10-visit package for $350

Dogs are grouped by play style and energy level, not just size.
Facilitators practice recalls, sit, and leave it throughout play — built into the day, not a separate session.
Dedicated rest and decompression time is part of every day, so pups come home settled, not wired.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT TYPE OF TOOLS OR COLLARS DO YOU USE?

Our trainers are committed to force-free techniques. It is our experience that dogs learn skills quickly with positive reinforcement techniques. We successfully utilize science-based training techniques without the use of harsh corrections from shock or pinch collars that can damage the relationship between dog and owner.

WHAT VACCINATIONS DOES MY DOG NEED?

Rabies, DHLLP, and Bordatella every 6 months.

HOW OLD DOES MY DOG NEED TO BE TO ENROLL?

The health and wellbeing of your puppy is always our first priority.  If your puppy is not fully vaccinated, we encourage you to look into our Puppy Socialization Class. This four-week course is designed to help owners navigate the cute but frustrating puppy months with a variety of skills. We fully sanitize the facility before puppies enter their classes. Your dog is fully vaccinated, they’re welcome to enroll in any of our other services.

What age can I start training my puppy?

We start training pups as soon as they’re in their new home. Our puppy class is designed for pups that have not received all of their vaccines. We set up a clean environment to learn about socialization, basic manners and how to solve basic puppy problem behaviors.

WHAT SKILLS WILL MY DOG LEARN?

Our curriculum is designed to follow the American Kennel Clubs’ Family Dog program. Sit, down, come, leave it, leash skills, and stay are the foundation for a well-mannered dog. We guide clients through these skills in a variety of ways that allow them to navigate any environment with their dog.

What equipment should I bring to a training class?

For training, you’ll just need a regular flat collar or harness along with a 4- foot leash. We do not recommend retractable leashes, prong, or choke collars.

Shanthi and her team are knowledgeable, passionate problem solvers. They observe you and your dog to develop and teach you useful training strategies and tips—all using positive reinforcement. Everything is presented in practical, easy to understand ways, and feedback is provided during practice in classes. Plus, classes are fun for you and your dog! Shanthi and Rachel have helped my dog and me navigate basic skills, reactivity and guarding issues, and the challenges of doggie adolescence. Their tips, strategies, games, and exercises have all helped me understand what my dog needs from me to be successful. Shanthi and Rachel’s positivity, enthusiasm, and professional observations have increased my confidence in managing my dog so he feels safe and less fearful in novel or perceived scary situations and we see increased progress daily! My dog also loves seeing all his doggie friends at day school and his favorite people: Shanthi, Rachel, Donovan, Amber, and Ashe! Thank you, Shanthi and Team at School for Dogs! We love you! ❤️🐾🐶

I never imagined I'd love and rely on this dog school like I have! When we first took our dog several months ago, I asked if he could come more days per week, thinking we'd get him "graduated" and not have to spend more money over time. They were flexible with the timing, but once he did "graduate" I did not want him to stop going. Shanthi and the trainers there are kind, patient, and magicians with dogs. The dog school is worth every penny. They'll help you with all the basics of training, step-by-step, with flexibility of group classes, day school for just the dog, or private sessions. I showed up to the first group class soaking wet from having to give him a bath on the way and now find that the calmest part of my day is dropping him off at the dog school! They know him, know us, and he gallops as fast as he can to get inside each time. Many thanks to Shanthi, Donavan, Ashe, Amber, and Rachel for making our experience here great every day!

Outstanding service! Lot’s of research went into finding a great trainer who would not use a shock collar. Shanti is fantastic! Our dog loves and trusts her.
